Emily Murphy is a freelance lighting and projection designer for theatre and dance based in New York City. Emily holds a B.A. in Theatre with a concentration in Production from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. She was the lighting apprentice at Cleveland Play House for their 2018-2019 season and is a member of the Williamstown Theatre Festival's Lighting Intern Class of 2019. Selected past design projects include Tempo, FEED, Wildfire and the Bird Scouts, Godspell Jr, How To Be a Respectable Junkie, Violet (Nominated: Ostrander Award Best Light Design), Heathers The Musical, and For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When The Rainbow Is Enuf. Emily has also served as a multi-faceted designer for projects such as the Rhodes Cycle Drama, Rhodes Theatre Guild's 24-Hour Play Festivals, and a handful of devised movement and poetry pieces commissioned by ARTS Memphis in collaboration with Crosstown Concourse and Shelby County High Schools.
